100 Years of the Officers’ Ball
With the 78th Officers’ Ball, we are celebrating a very special anniversary at the Vienna Hofburg: 100 years of living tradition, festive gatherings and camaraderie. “Ad multos annos – To many years!” stands as a wish for continuity, friendship and a

This years’ guest country, France, shares far more with Austria than just cultural affinity and a love of music, cuisine and lifestyle.
Both countries are linked by a shared European heritage and continue to work together as partners – whether through international cooperation or joint efforts for peace and stability. France thus symbolises the international solidarity that has characterised the Officers’ Ball for decades.
Since 1927, the Ball has been a place where the military and civil society come together, alongside international guests. It
combines tradition with openness and is an expression of a vibrant and peaceful coexistence. Against the festive backdrop of the Vienna Hofburg, Austrian ball culture and French esprit merge to create an unforgettable evening.
